PlanB, the analyst behind the popular Stock-to-Flow model, has suggested that the winning strategy with Bitcoin is still holding it for as long as possible. The model predicts $288,000 by 2024. ''Nobody who bought #bitcoin and Hodled for 4+ years (200 weeks) ever lost money, EVER,'' said PlanB on Twitter. The tweet included a graph (shown above) that showcased the 200-weekly moving average acting as the floor for every bearish correction during bull runs since 2013. Bitcoin Volatility Touches 2021 High According to data published by Bybt.com, Bitcoin's 30-day volatility touched its yearly high last week. This shows that BTC is at risk of crazy price fluctuations in the coming days and weeks. It remains to be seen how retail traders react to these movements. ETH Volatility Nears 2017 High, MATIC Outperforms Major Coins and More ETH | Ethereum $2,394.57 -3.80% MATIC | MATIC $1.72 -8.64% MKR | Maker $3,226.77 -5.54%  According to data published by Skew, the 30-day realized volatility of the ETH/USD pair almost touched its 2017 high, indicating that upcoming sessions have a high probability of being highly volatile. Analysts suggest waiting before ETH reclaims $3,400 to invest. ''Don't need to catch exact bottoms or sell exact tops to make money,'' said Koroush AK, an independent analyst. Vitalik Buterin Argues Proof-of-Stake Is the Solution At a conference last week, Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, said that the blockchain's impending transition to a Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism is the solution to Ethereum's rampant energy consumption, an issue that has been widely criticized. Proof-of-Stake could eventually reduce energy costs on Ethereum by upwards of 10,000X. Buterin outlined the importance of more energy-efficient options in a technology that is gradually making its way into the mainstream. ''This thing we're building isn't just a game anymore. It's a significant part of a new era,'' said Buterin. MATIC Rallies by 100%, Outperforms the Broader Market Polygon (MATIC) was on a roll last week as it rallied from a low of $0.75 to a high of $2.40. As coins like BTC and ETH struggled to make any headway upwards, MATIC outperformed the broader market. Growing fundamentals in recent months combined with Polygon's announcement that it had finished integrating assets into Google Cloud's BigQuery are said to be behind this rally. Furthermore, Mark Cuban officially backed Polygon last week, stating, ''It is fast; it works well, and most importantly, their user base is growing exponentially.'' Crypto News Weekly Roundup US SEC to Co-operate With Congress to Improve Regulations Over Crypto Exchanges  Gary Gensler, the newly appointed chairman of the SEC, has announced plans to work closely with regulators and Congress to afford better protection to crypto exchanges and investors in crypto markets. This announcement came at a hearing before the Financial Services and General Government subcommittee of the House of Representatives last Wednesday. Gensler further stated that the SEC is under-equipped when it comes to regulating the crypto industry, noting that they only spend ''about 16% or 17%'' of their budget or $325 million on technology, which is ''less than probably some large firms spend in a month.'' Sweden to Set to Trial Its First CBDC  Sweden's own Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) called the ''e-krona'' has been in development for a while and they're now moving to non-simulated trials for the currency. The Sveriges Riksbank, the country's central bank, had been trialing the project on ''simulated participants.'' However, they stated they would be moving on to ''cooperation with external participants in the test environment'' soon.
